Color Code Converter
Enter a color in the format you already have and instantly translate it into web, print, perceptual, and color-science values without moving between separate calculators.
Use Color Converter
How to use Color Code Converter
- Type or paste a valid value into any format field, including HEX, RGB, HSL, CMYK, LAB, LCH, or XYZ.
- Watch every other field and the live color sample update as soon as the value becomes valid; unfinished input remains available while you type.
- Copy one result, copy the complete conversion set, or use the picker and random button to explore another color.
Why use Color Code Converter
Color Code Converter is a practical workspace for translating one color into the formats used across websites, apps, brand systems, print files, and color-science workflows. Paste a HEX value from a style guide, type an RGB color from a screenshot tool, or enter HSL values while tuning a user interface. As soon as the input is complete and valid, every connected field updates together. The live sample also changes immediately, so you can confirm that the numbers represent the color you expected instead of trusting a conversion in isolation.
The converter covers familiar CSS color codes such as HEX, eight-digit HEXA, RGB, RGBA, HSL, and HSLA. It also includes HSV or HSB and HWB, two useful ways to think about hue while adjusting saturation, brightness, whiteness, or blackness. For production and design handoff, CMYK values provide a convenient process-color reference. CIE LAB, cylindrical LCH, and CIE XYZ D65 are included for perceptual comparison, color analysis, and workflows that need more than browser-facing notation. Alpha-aware inputs preserve transparency and carry it into HEXA, RGBA, and HSLA output.
Every field is editable, so this is more than a fixed HEX-to-RGB calculator. If a client gives you CMYK values, enter them directly. If a design token is written as hsl(), paste that value into HSL. When an entry is unfinished or invalid, the tool does not erase it, block a keystroke, open an alert, or replace the last good color. It simply waits while you type and then displays a quiet message beside the form if the value still cannot be understood. Once the code becomes valid, the full conversion set resumes automatically.
Conversions use standard sRGB calculations and a D65 reference white for XYZ, LAB, and LCH. That makes the results consistent and repeatable, although displayed values are rounded to keep them useful for real interfaces and documentation. Some LAB, LCH, XYZ, or CMYK values can describe colors outside the sRGB gamut. When such a value is entered, the visible web preview and RGB-based outputs are clipped to the nearest reproducible sRGB channel limits. Commercial printing also depends on a specific ICC profile, ink set, paper, and press, so the CMYK result should be treated as a reliable mathematical conversion rather than a substitute for printer-managed proofing.
Use the copy button on an individual card when you only need one notation, or copy all formats for a design-system ticket, QA note, brand handoff, or development reference. The automatic black-or-white label inside the sample makes the current swatch easy to identify in both light and dark site themes. Whether you are converting HEX to RGB, checking an RGBA alpha value, documenting an accessible palette, or comparing LAB and LCH coordinates, the tool keeps the entire color conversation visible in one clean place.
Best for Color Converter
- Converting web colors between HEX, RGB, RGBA, HSL, HSLA, HSV, and HWB.
- Preparing design-system documentation with CMYK, LAB, LCH, and XYZ references.
- Checking pasted color values while preserving alpha transparency and a live visual sample.
Practical notes
- LAB, LCH, and XYZ values use the standard D65 white point shown in the field labels.
- Out-of-gamut scientific color values are clipped when represented on an sRGB screen.
- Confirm CMYK colors with the printer’s ICC profile before approving physical production.
